Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you (the parent or legal guardian) and Tutor Larry, operated by Laurence Adrian Seberini, a sole proprietor trading as Tutor Larry (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or using Tutor Larry, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Tutor Larry is

Tutor Larry is an online learning tool for high-school students. An AI tutor teaches one topic at a time and gives a report card at the end. It's a study aid — it supports a student's learning; it is not a replacement for school, a teacher, or a guarantee of any particular result or grade.

2. Who can use it

• You must be 18 or older and the parent or legal guardian of the child who will use the account.
• You confirm you consent to your child using Tutor Larry and to us processing the limited information described in our Privacy Policy.
• Access is via a private link tied to your account. Keep it to your household — please don't share it publicly or resell access.

3. Free trial

New accounts get a free trial of 3 lessons or 7 days, whichever comes first. No card is needed and you won't be charged unless you choose a paid plan.

4. Plans, lessons and billing

• Paid plans are Basic (R100 / month, 10 lessons) and Pro (R200 / month, 30 lessons). Your lesson allowance refreshes at the start of each calendar month. Unused lessons don't carry over — each month starts fresh at your plan's amount.
• A “lesson” is one full topic session. It's counted once, when your child starts it (answers the first question). Going over a finished topic again, reviewing weak spots, or resuming where they left off doesn't use another lesson — only deliberately starting a topic over does, and we always ask first.
• Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment provider (PayFast). The subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time in one click. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the month you've already paid for.
• The free trial lets you try everything at no cost and no risk before you pay. Because of that, payments already made are generally not refunded — except where South African consumer law gives you a right to a refund, which we'll always honour.
• Prices may change; we'll give you reasonable notice before any change affects you, and you can cancel if you don't want to continue.

5. Acceptable use

• Use the service for your own household's learning only.
• Don't share login links publicly, attempt to break, scrape, or overload the service, or use it for anything unlawful.
• We may suspend or close an account that is misused or that abuses the service.

6. Our content

The lessons, diagrams, text, branding and software are owned by us or our licensors and are provided for your family's personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, redistribute or resell them.

7. About the AI

Each lesson is pre-built against a curriculum and the tutor is bound to that lesson, but AI can still occasionally get something wrong. Please treat it as a learning aid and double-check anything important. If you spot a mistake, tell us — we'd genuinely like to fix it.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Tutor Larry available and working well, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may add, change or remove features over time.

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll let you know (for example, by email). Continuing to use Tutor Larry after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
